Suds Surf School is based around Sandend on the beautiful waters of the Moray Firth. We offer a range of watersports including surfing, bodyboarding & standup paddleboarding.

We are now based year-round from Sandend on the Moray Firth, after starting Tiree's first surf school in 2004. Lessons on Tiree are still available via Blackhouse Watersports.

We offer ASI & ISA qualified surf & bodyboard lessons and hire and standup paddle board (SUP) lessons, hire or tours and are endorsed by the Scottish Surfing Federation.

We also hire a range of equipment including surfboards, standup paddleboards (SUP), wetsuits, bodyboards, skimboards and snorkels.

Self-catered accomodation is also available at Sandend in our recently renovated 2 bedroom fisherman's cottage: Click here for details

Whether you're a tentative first timer, a budding intermediate, or an aspiring expert, we've got something to suit. We offer activities, lessons and hire for groups and individuals; families; club or school groups; stag & hen parties; or corporate groups.

The yoga-inspired warm up and the hatha vinyasa session will be led by Sarah, who fell in love with the combination of yoga and surfing many years ago. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2020 at Spirit Sadhana Yoga School in Barcelona and has been practising and teaching ever since.

They will consist of steady and
flowing movement from pose to pose in a
sequences of movements synchronized with breath,
often pausing to hold poses for various lengths
of time. Yoga perfectly benefits surfing as it
builds strength and flexibility through
movement, while the conscious rythmic flow of
the breath helps boost energy. At the same time,
stillness in certain poses helps to focus the
mind and stay calm in stressful moments.

Lia will lead the surf session and provide you with the equipment to keep you toasty in the North Sea. She is an ISA qualified surf instructor and has been working for Suds Surf School since 2019. Sandend is one of her favourite places to surf in Scotland due to the consistent waves and the stunning surroundings.
